What is a recovery residence?

Healing Through Hope follows the philosophy of the Hub and Spoke treatment
model:

The Hub and Spoke model is an integrated approach to addiction treatment that
connects centralized, specialized care centers ("hubs") with a network of community-
based providers ("spokes"). This structure ensures that individuals receive
comprehensive, continuous care tailored to their specific needs.

Improved Treatment Access and Outcomes
Implementing the Hub and Spoke model has led to significant improvements in
treatment accessibility and patient outcomes. For instance, California's adoption of this
model resulted in a 94.7% increase in buprenorphine treatment initiations within the first
15 months, with 3,480 new patients starting treatment across 118 spokes.

Similarly, Vermont's Hub and Spoke system reported a 96% reduction in average days
of opioid use among patients when comparing the 90 days before entering treatment to
the 90 days after.

Conclusion
By fostering a collaborative network of specialized and community-based care
providers, the Hub and Spoke model delivers comprehensive, wrap-around services
that address the multifaceted nature of addiction. This integrated approach not only
enhances treatment accessibility but also significantly improves patient outcomes,
offering a promising pathway to sustained recovery.

Comprehensive, Wrap-Around Services
The model's design facilitates the provision of wrap-around services, addressing various
aspects of recovery:

  • Holistic Healing: By integrating multiple therapeutic modalities, individuals can

address the root causes of their trauma and addiction, leading to more
comprehensive and enduring recovery.

  •  Emotional Resilience: The model enhances emotional resilience, enabling

individuals to develop healthier coping mechanisms and emotional regulation
skills, which are crucial for navigating life's challenges.

  •  Empowerment and Self-Efficacy: Recognizing their innate power and potential,

individuals develop a sense of self-efficacy, knowing they have the ability to
create positive change in their lives.

  •  Peer Supports: Access to peer support, including recovery coaches and

mentors, plays a crucial role in the recovery process, offering valuable insights,
understanding, and encouragement.

  •  Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP): Structured programs focus on developing

coping skills, addressing underlying challenges related to substance use, and
fostering a strong foundation for sustained recovery.

  •  Job Skills Training: Comprehensive job skills training supports individuals in

building a pathway to independence, focusing on developing essential workplace
skills and enhancing employability.

  •  Access to Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) and Medical Services:

Direct access to MAT, primary care, and mental health services ensures
comprehensive medical support throughout the recovery journey.

The Healing Through Hope Recovery Residence Program demonstrates the power of
the hub and spoke model, We believe a mind-body-spirit connection is essential to

facilitate profound healing and growth. This approach recognizes that healing is not just
about addressing physical symptoms or external behaviors but also about exploring the
underlying emotional and spiritual aspects of oneself. By embracing this holistic
perspective, residents experience the following benefits:

Holistic Healing:

The mind-body-spirit connection fosters holistic healing, where individuals can address the root causes of their trauma and addiction. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, we empower residents to heal on multiple levels, leading
to a more comprehensive and enduring recovery.

Emotional Resilience:

The mind-body-spirit connection enhances emotional resilience, enabling residents to develop healthier coping mechanisms and emotional regulation skills. By acknowledging and processing emotions, individuals build the capacity to
navigate life's challenges with greater ease and self-awareness.

Empowerment and Self-Efficacy:

By recognizing their innate power and potential, residents develop a sense of self-efficacy, knowing they have the ability to create positive change in their lives. This empowerment is a catalyst for growth and a vital element of sustained recovery.

Addressing the root of the pain:

The Healing Through Hope Recovery Residences
are a Place of Healing, Support, and Empowerment: In our homes individuals can put down their trauma and addiction and pull up healing from nature, recovery support, and
self-efficacy skills. Our residence operates 24 hours a day with a compassionate and skilled support staff to ensure the residents' safety and well-being. The program is also
peer-governed, creating a sense of community and shared responsibility.

Peer Supports:

Residents of the recovery residence program have access to peer support, including recovery coaches, mentors, and community partners. Peer support plays a crucial role in the recovery process, as individuals who have overcome similar challenges can offer valuable insights, understanding, and encouragement. This supportive network helps residents build connections and a sense of belonging, fostering and an environment of shared growth and recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Services (IOP):

Healing Through Hope requires nine weeks of
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services as part of the recovery residence admission process. These services, provided in partnership with Samaritan Health PC, are designed to support residents in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery. The IOP includes therapeutic group sessions facilitated through a hybrid model, offering both in-person and virtual participation to accommodate individual needs. This structured program focuses on developing coping skills, addressing underlying challenges related to substance use, and fostering a strong foundation for sustained recovery.

Access to job skills training:

The Recovery Residence program provides access to services that offer comprehensive job skills training to support individuals in building a pathway to independence. This program focuses on developing essential workplace skills, including resume writing, interview preparation, time management, and effective communication. Participants also gain hands-on experience through community service
opportunities and workshops designed to enhance employability. By fostering confidence and competence, the program helps individuals prepare for meaningful and
sustainable employment.

Access to Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) and medical services:

Residents in the program have direct access to MAT, Primary Care, and Mental health services
